Our Story

Bhutan Dorji Holidays is owned and personally managed by Chambula Dorji, a hotel and tourism management graduate from Germany and the University of Surrey, UK. Prior to the privatization of tourism in Bhutan, Chambula Dorji gained much experience working for the Tourism and Hotel Industry which was then owned by the government. With the privatization of tourism in Bhutan, Chambula ventured out to open his own travel agency. Chambula served as an executive member in ABTO for 8 years (2000 – 2008).

Bhutan Dorji Holidays was started in 1997. Over the past 12 years, our company has served clients from many countries, including Australia, Canada, US, Germany, Spain and the UK to name but a few. We have organized trips to Bhutan from individual travelers to family trips, school expedition trips (Dauntsey’s School, UK just completed their second trekking expedition to Bhutan in December 2009!) to professional documentary film makers (click here to see a list of documentary film makers we worked with), authors to photographers. We, at Bhutan Dorji Holidays, understand that holidays should be special and so our small team of professionals will make sure that you have an unforgettable trip to the Kingdom of Bhutan.
